Alessia’s preschool class took a field trip to Gilcrease Orchards. I had heard about this orchard but never had been. Who knew so many fruits and veggies really could grow here in Vegas.
We were able to go look at all the apple trees. Alessia’s teacher brought a blanket and read them a story and explained all about different kinds of apples. The kids then got to pick an apple off the tree.
We went on a tour of the apple cider press. And then we were able to go on a hay ride through the orchard. At the end we went and looked at the Pumpkins, although were a day too early so we weren’t allowed to pick them.
We ended the field trip with delicious apple cider doughnuts and some delicious apple cider.
It really was a fun field trip. Next year, I hope to go back with the whole family and pick some pumpkins.
