The Doctors

I have spent way too many hours at the doctors this year.  This past month it was turn to visit the doctors.

In April I accidentally shut my garage door on my left arm.  A week later it was still quite sore and I was afraid I might have broken it.  Luckily, a trip to Dr. Grondel and an x-ray confirmed it wasn’t broken.  Grondel thinks I probably bruised the tendons.  So I was put in a brace for 3-4 weeks. I hated the brace.  It wasn’t too comfortable.  My arm would get all sweaty because it was getting so warm outside.  After three weeks of wearing it I took it off and my wrist has felt great ever since.  After a two hour wait and a 2 minute visit with the doctor I was told I was healed.  Wahoo!

Also this past month or so I visited with a regular doctor.  I didn’t even have a doctor since I usually did everything through my ob, Dr. Tyre.  But I was getting really dizzy and decided to was time to go to a doctor and figure out what was up.

I found Dr. Ortega who I have loved.  She ran a bunch of tests on me.  My thyroid is under active but not to the point that I need medicine yet.  My iron levels were good but I was lacking something in my iron.  Everything else checked out really well.  Overall, my doctor said I have the body of a teenager, which is a good thing.  So for now I am just taking Prenatal and vitamin B-12 in hopes that the dizziness goes away.  I also need to drink more water.  I am not very good at that.

John has also been visiting the doctor.  He hurt his shoulder playing basketball.  After a week or two he finally went and got it checked out. He just needs to rest it.  This is not easy for him!  He is on some drugs to to help with any inflammation.  Today he starts physical therapy three times a week.   He heads off to a frisbee tournment in two weeks so hopefully it is better by then.  Grondel is going to give him some shot before he goes to help his shoulder feel better.  All I know is we are just geting too old!

waiting and waiting and waiting at the doctors…..
