Church Sites On Christmas Eve

We decided the best way to celebrate Christmas Eve was to go and visit the Church Sites in Palmyra.  We were the only ones at the sites that day. Which was a good thing because we are not the most reverent family.

We visited the Hill Cumorah first.  It was 60 degrees out so we didn’t even need coats.  There was still a little bit of snow on the ground so the kids had a blast having a snow ball fight at the top of the hill.

Our next stop was the Grandin Building.  We took the tour there.  We learned about how The Book of Mormon was published.  I have been on this tour many times so when Gianluca threw a royal fit I took him out.  It wasn’t long before he fell asleep.

IMG_0170 IMG_0174After a quick stop for lunch we headed to the Log Home for a really short tour.  We then parted ways with the missionary and we headed into the Sacred Grove.  It was a fun afternoon exploring the grove and talking about the first vision.  We took some family pictures before heading back to the visitors center.  At the visitors center the kids and John had another snow ball fight. I am pretty sure the memories the kids will have most of the trip to the church sites this year are all the snow ball fights they had.
